I recently read this statement in a piece on People.com Kate Middleton quit her job in the company of their parents, the source of the match:
"As every bride knows, with only a few months to go before the big day, planning a wedding almost becomes a full-time job."
Does it strike anyone else as a bit insulting? Or so condescending? Of course, planning a wedding is time consuming. And unfortunately, for a lot of brides-to-be, that time joined in weekend hours and hours of lunch and afternoon. But if you have eight hours a day, five days a week, I really hope that I pay for someone else's plan lavish reception, a few days, not their own ceremony and reception.
I know that planning a wedding can feel like a full time job, especially on days when you need to call or e-mail from multiple vendors and make the final decisions with respect to fabric colors and so on, But planning a wedding is also a waiting game. There are a lot of downtime involved in planning a wedding, and I sincerely hope that people have not been otherwise quiet brides-to-be a reason for the stress which means they are not doing enough if not are spending hours and hours for the wedding.
